Industries’ Performance on TSE
Tehran, July.02 (SENA) - Data and Statistics Office of Tehran Stock Exchange published the figures of 39 listed industries in the past three and twelve months leading to 31 Khordad (21 August), the third Iranian Month. The three and twelve months’ figures show 13 and 38 percent growth of TEDPIX, the main benchmark of TSE.

Tehran, July.02 (SENA) - Data and Statistics Office of Tehran Stock Exchange published the figures of 39 listed industries in the past three and twelve months leading to 31 Khordad (21 August), the third Iranian Month. The three and twelve months’ figures show 13 and 38 percent growth of TEDPIX, the main benchmark of TSE.

The quarterly figures show that 28 out of 39 industries recorded positive performance. The figures point to wooden products as the biggest gainer that grew 75%. The second and third places belong to mining of metal ores and base metals with 45 and 33 percent growth. Ceramic and tiles, conglomerates, and supply of electricity, gas and steam with 19,17 and 17 percent were the other industries with better performance than the market.

Auto and parts manufacturers, machinery and electrical appliances, and coal mining with minus 7,6 and 5 were the biggest losers.

The past twelve months’ figures demonstrate that 17 industries experienced growth while five industries beat the market performance. Mining of metal ores recorded 141 percent growth, followed by base metals and refineries with 140 and 78 percent. Sugar industry and petrochemicals with 53 and 42 percent were the other two bullish industries.

Oil and gas mining, mining of other metals, and agriculture industry were at the bottom of the list with minus 39,36 and 24 percent fall.

The market capitalization of TSE increased 10 percent in spring and reached 421,000 billion rials ($100 billion). Market cap of ten industries grew more than 11 percent. Telecommunications shrank 18 percent to become the biggest loser in terms of market cap.

The twelve months’ figures illustrate 31 percent growth for TSE. The figures show growth of intermediaries at 197 percent followed by base metals and mining of metal ores with 129 and 125 percent. The decliners were mining of other metals, machinery and electrical appliances, tire and plastics, and communication equipment which shed. 37,25,20 and 19 percent.
